I just married into family with a vineyard in Hungary and would like to know more about the real wine-making process. Unfortunately the owners are not english speakers and can't easily teach me. The only books I see center on making it at home or learning to taste, enjoy, etc.

Can anyone recommend a book that adresses the actual industrial wine production process, inputs, supply chain, etc. ? Basically end to end wine-making.

Bryce Rankine "Making Good Wine: A Manual of Winemaking Practice for Australia and New Zealand"

I'm fairly sure it will work in Hungary as well. Wink

Seriously, though, the book is a technobuff's winemaking manual to industrial wineries. I think this may be what you are looking for. You can find it at www.winetitles.com/au

Good luck with the winery!

There's always the Enology Handbook, quite extensive.

I like Jaime Goodes Wine science, which does cover more stuff but some viticulture and vinification is easily read text.
