I am new to the message boards so hello everybody. I just started drinking wine about 3-4 years ago thanks to my now fiance. I am only 25 years old. She has gotten me hooked. After a few years of tasting quite a few different wines I have decided to build a collection. I also just recently bought a 52 bottle wine refrigerator. Also be aware I am pretty much a Cab guy.

My question is how is my collection taking shape and when is the right time to open some of these wines? The 2001 Mondavi's were part of a case I have been enjoying over the past year.

Also are there any that could last 20+ years in my collection?

Here is what I have so far:
5 x 2001 Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon
1 x 2000 Robert Mondavi Stag's Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
1 x 1997 Robert Mondavi Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
1 x 1999 Robert Mondavi Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
2 x 2002 Matanza's Creek Cabernet Sauvignon
1 x 2002 Frog's Leap Cabernet Sauvignon
1 x 1998 MossWood Cabernet Sauvignon
1 x 2002 Joseph Phelps Cabernet Sauvignon
1 x 1998 Joseph Phelps Insignia
1 x 1999 Joseph Phelps Insignia
1 x 2001 Joseph Phelps Insignia
3 x 2002 Joseph Phelps Insignia
1 x 2001 Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
1 x 2002 Cakebread Cellars Benchland Select Cabernet Sauvignon

Any help is appreciated.

Just curious about your Matanzas? What do you think about that wine? I have been a member there for years. In fact I had a 2002 Cab last night. For the record that 2002 Cab will peak in about a year and a half but it tastes awesome right now.

Nice collection. You are definitly a Cabbie.
Some others you might want to get.

Caymus Special Selection 90,91,95,00
Lewis Cab Sauv 02,03
Etude 01,02
Jordan 00,02

All great! Have you gotten into French Bordeaux' since they are a Cab blend? I think you would also like some of the Italian Tuscans.

Purple Smiles!
