I recently purchased a 2004 pinot noir on my latest trip to Oregon from a local winery.... I love pinot.... but am used to drinking the burgundys.....when should I be drinking this one? Should I be holding it? Thanks!
The 2004 Oregon PNs are for the most part ripe and forward. They are WAY more approachable than a 2004 Burgundy will be. At the same time, the better ones will not be at their peak for several years, or even longer. Thus Board-o's question is important.
Pirnha, your post (Swirl, Smell, and Sip) was indeed a good review for a new drinker; yours truly. Although I have read most of the lowdown in other references, repetition helps me to retain all of the information.
