Rik,

Incidentally I tried the Anakena Single Vineyard Carmenere last week and I found it very good. Didn't make a TN though.

Hi, Markus.

Sure, the first six bottles we had were delicious (a lot better than the ones we had a couple of years ago). But maybe we had a lesser bottle, it wasn't corket or anything, but "just OK". We've got three boxes left, so I hope it'll be an exception.

TN? Good idea.

This one was just OK too.

Yeah Rik,
Carmanere, not bad, not great, just ok. Spanish wines are where my interest lies at the moment. Although I would not cross Carmanere off the list for a little change now and then. I will also remember what you said about Merlot of foreign origins.

I'm pretty sure I saw it, and bought it at either the Oddbins on High Holborn and in Soho near Soho Square (forget the street), in case you are in London any time soon. And I'm positive that I didn't spend more than 12 or 14 pounds for it.

I'll try to find my TN sheet and or Visa receipt to confirm though.

I'll surely go out to find me a few bottles. Just have to find the time.

On the Anakena Reserva.
The second bottle of the second box is great again. Am I lucky or what.

Tonight I have had the 2003 Terrunyo carmenere. This wine has great promise, but needs cellaring for at least two more years. I have a full case and will mark them for 2007.

The 2003 Terrunyo Carmenere is absolutely fantastic. I have not been so enthusiastic about a young wine in a long time. 30 minutes in the decanter gives it plenty of breath, but it will be best from 2008-2010.

That nectar is itself divine.
The man who drinks not, yet attains
By godly grace to human rank
Would be an angel if he drank.
