had a Chardonnay to start that wasn't bad, then a blend outta Paso that was Cab, Syrah & Zin - the flavors were pretty disjointed... both really weren't mentioning besides what i said above... the Zahtila wines were tasted from bottom to top in the order i posted the TN's

also shared a glass of 99' Silver Oak Napa w/ Mark O' Meara's wife (she bought Wink) & a few other PGA wives, they're all in town for the SBC...

2000 Beckstoffer Cabernet Sauvignon

was told by the distributor the grapes are sourced from BV. nice wine, decent coloring and attractive nose. smooth, with fruit dominating, with a nice combo of oak & fruit on the finish. not too bad, not too complex either. 88-90

2000 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

similar coloring to the Beckstoffer, nose a little more simple w/ oak sneaking through. a simple wine, smooth with nice fruit & subtle oak, though with not much going on in the finish. 85-87

1999 Dry Creek Zinfandel

medium coloring, auburn spice nose, some red fruits. smooth on the palate with fruit, but finishes a little green & tart that overides everything else... 82-84

always fun to try something new...
