Bought a bottle of this the other day and was wondering what to expect for Whitehall Lane's second label. I think this is the first vintage. Paid $16.99 for it on the recommendation of the wine shop. Hoping for a good QPR.

Opened this last night and I can't say that I can sing its praises. Upon opening, the intense nose of red fruits brought some promise. I decanted for an hour and a half before drinking. At that time the nose had dulled some with hints of plums, vanilla, and a touch of spice becoming more prominent.

This wine was rather simple with a fairly balanced, fruit forward style. Dried cherry was the most prevalent flavor to go with the medium finish.

Not a bad wine, but for the money you could do better. 85 pts.
