Intense dark ruby colour. Aromas of cherry, plum, tar, spice, licorice. Medium-full bodied, tannic, with violets, cherry, spice, tar, licorice, and a hint of cocoa. Moderate-long finish, ~40s, with cherry, plums, and spice. Needs 5+ years. 91+ points. (91 pts.)

Spicy, forward, almost sanguine nose; intense & full-throttle on palate w/firm structure, attractive oak notes, fresh, long and reasonably approachable on finish. Tasted after 2 1/2 hr decant.
92 pts.

Decanted for one hour. Dark, ruddy ruby colour; almost opaque at the core. Very pretty nose of mixed berry jam, worn saddle leather, truffle, dried roses. Medium-full bodied with nicely integrated tannins and replays from the nose joined by dried cherries. 30-35s finish. This bottle was much better than the last. Drink now-2020. 92 points. (92 pts.)
