Continually, I say I will not open another 1995 Insignia till 2007/2010, but I always seem to give in! Still, I think this will be a very special mature bottle to experience----don't drink it too soon, but if you do, you'll love it!

Anyway, this thick, rich, unctuous, viscous, spicey-yet-sweet, beauty was an impressive bottle of wine! Still displaying a youthful presence at 10 years, this bottle reminded me of prune/plum dark fruits soaked in spices and smoke....96/99 points.

I also think this wine is something special. Still holding my last three 750's and two magnums for another few years as well.

How far away from prime do you two feel this wine is?

Just one more sip.

Board-O------ I still could detect sufficient tannins on the outer edges of the tongue that had not been fully resolved; but again, it was super rich & fruity, with enough concentration to handle those tannins. Although you can enjoy it now, personally, the 1995 Insignia is still far from being a fully mature wine, and will only improve, IMO.

Parker shows a drinking window of 1998 to 2023, but if one wants the full pleasure of the 1995 Insignia, and only has a bottle or two, I would guess it would be best to open it 2010-2012---on the early side. Still, if you open it tonight----you would be thrilled!

Lakersguy -- Those mags are a precious & expensive commodity! I would imagine they would be very difficult to find and probably cost $300-$500! Also, I have opened one Mag but don't plan to open another till 2015/17! I only hope I can restrain myself!

I bought a couple of 750s of the 1995 Insignia in Niagara, New York only 2 years ago for $60 each. I an kicking myself for not buying more of the 3 cases they had on display.

I thought it was excellent but needed 3-5 years. It will age for a very long time but I didn't feel it was TOO young when tasted earlier in the year.

Latour67 -- My only regret is that I had two other 95 mags that I have already opened way to soon. I'll be holding these. Thanks for the TN update.
