  • 1995 Cantina Vignaioli Barbaresco Elvio Pertinace Vigneto Nervo - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco (9/19/2008)
Decanted and immediately poured. Alive and fresh off the bat, even a bit tight. After 30 mins- 1 hour the wine provided an outstanding nose of fresh flowers, sour cherry, wet earth and ground cloves. On the palate the wine peaked at 1 - 1 1/2 hours when it was most balanced with sour cherry, raspberry, a touch of eucalyptus, and soft tannins. The wine was very slowly fading at 3+ hours but overall showed very nicely. Drink now and enjoy! Paired with ragu Bolognese on homemade pasta- an outstanding night! (90 pts.)
