Next week I may be able to buy some Branaire-Ducru 1975. Did anyone have this chateau and vintage recently? I know RP gives it a good 91 (drink until 2011), but this report comes from 1998.
Who had the pleasure, who wants to share? Wink

And as a finishing touch, God created the Dutch!

As you may have guessed from other posts, Micheal Broadbent's "Vintage Wines" is my favorite wine book of all time (ok I bought it last week). It is basically a collection of 1000s of fairly recent tasting notes from a guy who earned his living tasting fine vintage wines.

Alas, on the 1975 Branaire-Ducru, he says in tasting notes from 1995 "Almost too sweet. Attractive fruit. Noticable tannin and acidity".

Two stars out of five. But if it's anything to go by, when he makes later tastings of the same wine, he might adjust his results quite considerably.

cbmac thanks. I consider the Parker notes more optimistic. May be I purchase them to see what happens in a couple of years.

stevie......In that case, can I make you happy with an old bottle Cote du Rhone 1975? Found it last week in my father's cellar. Big Grin

Thanks NDD, but for the '75 vintage, I prefer Beaujolais over Rhone.

Sorry, I only have some 'villages' left. Too expensive to give away, but available for 'off line' in March! Big Grin Razz
