One hour decant.

Typical Justification opaque purple, blood-red. Floral nose with aromas of strawberry and candied spice. Medium to full-bodied with cherry, coffee and mocha on the palate. Spicy finish, but subtle enough to be refined. Fine tannins and velvety-smooth. Just what I would expect from another vintage of Justification. A winner.

40+5+5+17+18+8=93

How much was the 06 Justification? The 05 Isoceles just came to mpls and was $60. So I'm leaning toward the Justification for the price. The wine rep here for Justin was telling me the 05 Isoceles was the best so far this decade. But at $60 bones I'm leaning elsewhere.

I hope it stays that way. The price is fair, people like the wine, but there is not a huge gotta have it mentality driving the prices up. Glad to see you enjoyed the wine. The last vintage was a little more refined and subtle than I had expected. Can't wait to try this one.

Raspberry jam and maybe a hint of something akin to lavender but not that sharp. Enough acid to get in my way. Would like to revisit in 3-5 years but this is not as good as past vintages for me. Did Justin Change or did I?

Barely in the bottle perhaps. Like I said, I would like to see it in 3-5 years.

Spo... It was in a different world from the 2000 Brunello, the 95 Ponet Canet, not to mention the 91 BV GLT... I think Decanting would have aided it as well. I enjoyed it the previous week at a dinner w/Julia, but I agree on giving it a few years to do its thing in the bottle.. I will bring it along in 2111 when we get together for a tasting... Big Grin
