Anyone tried the one? Don't confuse that one with Poggio alle Mura 97. I can get that for $95. Is it reasonable price to buy?

Although I haven't tasted it, I have tasted the '93 and '95. It's a great wine, modern in style like the rest of Banfi's wines, but one that needs substantial time in the cellar.

I paid $100CAD for my bottles, but that was at least 2 years ago, so $95USD isn't that bad.

Agree with futronic that this wine should sleep for several more years. If I get someone to actually open one, I'll let you know. Mine are buried, and will stay there for a while! Smile $95 is a great price for this wine according to Wine-Searcher.

I have had this twice. First time was 2 years ago. It was on a restaurant wine list for $75! (not anymore), so I couldn't pass it up. It was terrific, as many of the 97's had a nice vibrancy in the year or so after release.

Had another 8 months ago (through a friend) and it seemed closed down to me. I have two in my cellar that I am holding at least 2 years. I'd get more, but it's too expensive (usually $100 or more) now, so unless I see a serious good deal, I'm not getting anymore.

The '97 all'Oro at the Banfi winery in Tuscany was about $80US. Haven't opened it yet, sorry.

The '99 sells now for $87.99 at Premier Cru.

I think that's a very good price for the '97.

Like futronic, I paid C$100 for mine a few years back but haven't tried it yet. For what it's worth, the reviewers' scores were as follows (let me know if you'd like me to post the full TN from any of them):

Suckling - 96
Rogov - 95
Tanzer - 91

I had a bottle over a year ago and it was still closed down. Keep them cellared till at least 2007 at the earliest.
