Opened this one up last night. Dark ruby in color with a muted nose of peat moss and cherry. The attack is borderline too sweet with touches of cinnamon stick and cherry. The finish is on the long side (20-30 seconds) and it takes the sweetness down a notch with notes of liquid smoke and clove. Could easily stand some more time in the cellar. Complex. Interesting. 92 points.

I was very underwhelmed by this wine. I actually enjoyed the 02' DuMol RRV to it.

If you're into more of the "tea" flavors that pinot sometimes can provide, I'd agree that the RRV is nice.

This wine will show much much more in 2-3 years in my opinion...
