2002 Lewis Cellars Alec's Blend - USA, California, Napa Valley (8/26/2005) Dark inky colour, thick out of the bottle. Tobacco, blackberry, leather and spice notes. This iis all over the place and comes back for a nice balanced wine. A bit oaky at first, but as it sat in the glass and decanter, the tannins sweetend and the alchohol began to fade. 45+ sec finish. This is 3rd gear foot to the floor wine, that is great to drink now. Why wait ? (94 pts.)

Revisted this wine last night while the power was out. Enjoyed King of the Hill style with neighbors outside.
I couldn't belive how much more alchoholic this was right out of the decanter. Much more on the nose than last night, but no signs of this wine fading at all. Like jam in a glass. Wild berries, spice, pencil lead, you could chew this wine. As it sat in the glass the alchohol blew off and was nothing but dark berry fruits. 95 pts.
I have 2 thoughts on this wine. I dont think it will get much better than it is right now. Drink it all and wait for my 03's to arrive.
Or save it and find out I was right.
