Cracked this tonight. A good Bordeaux, but at $50 it rides the line. Dark blood red/purple in color. Notes of graphite, mineral, plum, cassis, and oak. This is surprisingly well structured, and should last 10-20 years easy. Firm tannins clamp down on a moderate/long finish. This should continue to improve, but I don't ever see greatness here. Will try the rest tomorrow...I hope it opens up more. 90+ pts.

So much wine.....so little time!!!

Drab,

90 Points, well finally!

I haven't bought Gloria in the last 10 years, but I've always liked the presentation of Chateau Gloria, and I've bought several vintages over the last 30 years. The truth is; I've never had a special bottle that I thought was exciting. They made bland wine for years, but perhaps now, especially with the 2005 vintage, Gloria has made more of a commitment.

I thought the 03 was pretty nice, at the time it was <$30. I bought the 05 for $36. I opened one because I found it at Costco for that price. I liked it a little more than Drab, but I consumed mine over 4 days with the wine improving over that period of time. Based on that experience I probably won't open another for at least 3 more years, but more than likely it'll be >5 years.

*******
Not looking good for next year either.

I know Gloria is getting some much better scores during the last 10 years, but the last bottle I opened was from 1996 or 1998. Confused

At $30-36 I think this would be a nice wine for the price.

Yep, definitely on the move up but the value is getting questionable.

I enjoyed the '05 Gloria, very nice effort.

Had it again tonight. Not much different. No sign of oxidation, but not anymore complexity or changes either. Still 90+ pts. I think there's at least one more point worth with some age...
