2009 Bruno Colin Santenay 1er Cru Les Gravières - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Santenay 1er Cru (10/25/2012) -- pulled cork 30 minutes before first taste; no decant -- -- tasted non-blind over approx. 7 hours -- NOSE: deep; brooding; dark; dark red fruit aromas; hints of leather and minty crushed rocks; a touch floral; complex, but quite reserved right now; closed-up about 6 hours after opening. BODY: striking magenta-garnet color of medium depth; medium-light bodied. TASTE: nice acidity; fine tannins are strong and quite drying; pleasurable mélange of earth, leather, plum, black cherry, and dried herbs; a touch austere; 13% alc. is not noticeable; hot heavy; medium to medium-long finish of moderate intensity; needs a couple to few years of cellar time, but it may lack the concentration of fruit to age well over the long term; more ’08 in style than ’09; good QPR at ~$30. B: 50, 5, 12, 15, 7 = (89 pts.) Posted from CellarTracker | ||
