I had never heard of this before. I had a glass of it on Saturday night in Austin at the Four Seasons Hotel. I didn't see the bottle so I have no idea about vintage or non-vintage. Can anyone give me an idea?
For $7 a glass, this is excellent!!! Dark caramel color, full of hazelnuts and pecans, thick like a vintage port....Doc rating = 92 points
Used at a tasting for clients in New York. It's real good port for the money and it also comes with a great story. Port producers were looking to gain room in their storage facilities and so they took the large barrels to the port and loaded them on ships headed for the East Indies as "Ballast" when they return the port was aged and trhe claim of the "Ocean Motion " had improved the port, Hence the name "East India Solera" Enjoy

For God's sake, this is Sherry. This is a reasonably old NV Oloroso with some degree of sweetness from Jerez (Spain). This should come from a black sherry-styled bottle with large white types. Made by Lustau and in theory available at retail for around $20. Alc. around 18-20%. Never tried it myself, though. WS has rated it recently: 90/$18
Isn't it funny, how we have the stuff and you have the right weather? This particular bottle I've only seen in mainland Spain (& NY), so I've never bought one, but drinking old Sherry is an act of faith in these hot islands, whereas you could reasonably be a major market...someday
Ooops Tom, amazing rudeness on my part (& yopu should have seen how many more "?" were deleted!) I didn't notice your 1st post (wh t a welcome!). Hearty WARM welcome on (B)Board
