Had this again last night.

This bottle was not showing as well as all the others, not even close really. Frown

Still a nice bottle, but not special.

Sorry to hear about the poor showing, w+a. I love this wine (every vintage from Salon, actually). Glad to have a couple more in my cellar.

Agreed. It was very generous of LS to bring this, but it wasn't like the others...

Well, I'm glad to report ( Big Grin) the wine was again showing at near perfection!

No formal notes. We shared this bottle as we started planning our trip to Champagne and Paris in 10 weeks, which is easy to do with this beauty.

When this wine is on like last night, truly a near perfect wine.

What a lovely reason to enjoy this wine together. Smile Smile

Kind of sad I have no more of the '90...

Are you and Skosh going to Champagne?

Was the word "Beauty" refering to Skosh or the Champagne?

Inquiring minds want to know!

vintage, where have you been hiding? We need to open a few Bordeaux soon!

The word beauty always refers to shoshy, but this trip to France is with my beloved wife.

I can do many things wine related without my wife, but going to Champagne is not one of them. Wink To say she loves Champagne would be an understatement! Cool

Well considering you keep her plowed full of Salon and Krug I can only imagine why she loves Champagne. Razz

This Champagne and the '88 Krug just seem timeless each time we enjoy them.

Again as before, near perfection. I need to open the '88 Salon Skoshy is holding for me and compare soon.

  • 1990 Salon Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs - France, Champagne, Le Mesnil Sur Oger, Champagne (12/29/2006)
TWC Otisabdul Offline (Provence Delices, Toronto, Canada): Medium-gold colour. Aromas of hazelnuts, gingerbread, lemon, apple, white flowers, jasmine. Hints of sherry develop with time, which I find typical with Salon. Medium-full bodied, zippy acidity (also characteristic of this house), with apple, ginger, currant, and hints of brioche. Just fantastic texture. Long finish, 55-60s, with ginger, white flowers, and currant notes. (96 pts.)

This wonderful wine just continues to improve over time.

Part of me wishes I would have held more of the '88 & '90 back, but how can you?

The '90 I had yesterday might have been the best yet. Cool
