My first Sauternes 2003, bought at Ch. Doisy-Daëne last June. The Dubourdieu-family runs both estates.

I had the 2002 Cantegril during my visit alongside the 2002 Doisy-Daëne. The Doisy showed more depth, but the Cantegril was very good as well. More elegant and straight-forward.

The 2003 Cantegril had even more to offer. Lots of honey, 'pine forest' and orange skin in the nose. Lots of botrytis there as well. The palate showed crisp acidity, apricot, milk chocolate, butterscotch and marmelade. Very nice finish. Razz Smile

Very well-made, already lovely to drink but with a great future ahead!

90-91/100
