I know that I have seen a favorable review of this claret somewhere, but I cannot find it - has anyone tried it ? I can get it for $18...

I just picked up a bottle this past weekend, will try it soon.

Here is what Spectator has to say about it...

Sturdy, with plenty of concentration to the broad beam of toasty oak, cedar, black currant, plum, fresh herb and black cherry flavors. Earthy notes and solid strucure linger. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2007. 4,300 cases made.

Even with food poisoning from the night before we managed to drink a bit of wine.

The Spec review is pretty comprehensive. I would almost say this is rustic (they say "sturdy") but the blend smoothes it out. We served it with roast beef, veggies etc. The non-winos were coming back for more along with the winos.

With a nice QPR at $14.50 I'm buying more. The WS rating of 88 is spot-on.
