The nose exploded with copious dark fruit and baked apple aromas, followed by jammy flavors of plums, dark berries, and a little chocolate. There's a bit of youthful roughness to this wine. A year or more in the bottle should help. 92 now

2003 Oliverhill Winery Shiraz Jimmy Section - Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale (8/17/2008)
Opened this last night when we returned to our patio with some friends after dinner. On par with the 2001 and 2005 that I've had. Not an overpowering Shiraz and very nicely balanced in my opinion. Notes of cherry, pepper and jammy red berries. 92 points.

I'm of course not Vino, but I had the 04 about 6 months ago, didn't take notes but I recall thinking it was a bit disjointed, loads of fruit but a bit clipped on the finish. Still a 90 pointer and hopefully with a bit more time in the bottle it has come together.

2004 Oliverhill Winery Shiraz Jimmy Section - Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale (9/2/2007) Decanted 45 minutes prior to serving. More balanced than most Aussies. Still lots of fruit, but not OTT or overextracted. Full body, with dark fruit flavors and a nice, long finish without heat. Well made wine. A fair amount of sediment for such a young wine. (92 pts.)
