This is my first experience with this particular varietal, and all I can say is WOW!

The nose on this wine is huge and jammy. Lots of fruit, especially blackberry. There is also a hint of fine pipe tobacco.

The color is a deep ruby with plenty of legs on the swirl. The alcohol content is noted at 13.6% but seems to taste a little warmer than that.

On the palette, this wine tastes very nice. Plenty of fruit: blackberry, currant, black cherry. Soft tannin finish.

This is one of Boeger's TAPE LABEL release wines. We also have the 2000. Can't wait to open that one.

87 Pts.

Hey Brent,

I like the Refosco too. Definitely Boeger's most interesting wine year after year. Beats the heck out of most cheap Merlots or Zins for pure drinkability. Also try their Hangtown red if you haven't yet - good quaffing wine with BBQs and burgers.

Zinner: We LOVE the Hangtown Red. Do you carry it?
