  • 2006 Clayhouse Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc - USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles (5/16/2008)
This is a very nice, drinkable SB. Nothing spectacular but a great drinking wine, especially in summer months. On the nose it gave off a lot of citrus and I detected peach, pineapple and some pear. The nose was not particularly intense. In mouth and on the palate it was refreshing and full of ripe melon, peach, grapefruit and just generally citrus. I guess that is why this is such a good summer drinking wine. It had a moderate finish that left the ripe citrus and some spices that were not easily identifiable. Good acidity in balance with the citrus. A nice SB. (88 pts.)
