  • 2005 Milziade Antano Montefalco Rosso - Italy, Umbria, Montefalco, Montefalco Rosso (11/3/2009)
Cork was soaked 3/4ths of the way to the top. On pouring there was a chemical note to the nose, but this blew off in 5 minutes. The nose i ok with cherries, dust and some earthiness. Light to medium bodied. A bit thinner and more acidic than I had hoped for. A nice wine, but showing more heat than expected and slight raisining. I wonder if this is a proper bottle or not. In any event, this needs some food to counter the acidity, but drink well. I would not hold long term based on this showing. Perhaps it just PUME, and that's my real issue. (88 pts.)
