Clean and Earthy nose with some Bordeaux fruit. This one is 40% Petit Verdot, to me Petit Verdot is more about mouthfeel than flavor and this is certainly the case here. Acid seems soft and the tannin is there but not offensive. A very restrained wine with gravel, subtle fruits and a hint of sweet blackberry in the finish. Food does bring out the fruit on this and maybe some cedar. A little time open and an increase in temperature and a ripe cherry fruit does show but the restraint is still there. Simple and straightforward but very well done. (89 pts.)
