1999 Merryvale Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

Beautiful, opaque deep violet with nice clear ring. Light nose of roses and leather. Huge creamy taste of sour lime chalk. Yech. Pdd.

David:

Sounds like this isn't worth the $23.99 it's selling for in NH wine stores. Thanks for the tasting note.

Later,
Mark, N.H.

Interesting. I've had this wine twice with consistent notes. Oaky nose of peppers and cherries that carried through to the palette. Fairly well balanced with the sugars a bit lacking. I ranked it 85 points; two points behind Wine Specator. Mrs WIML each liked it enough to buy three more bottles @ 23.00 each for the cellar. I would drink 2002 through 2005.

Not a barn burner but a decent Napa Cab for this price range.
