Tasted alongside a few Boredeaux yawners. Dark purple, almost black colour. Black fruit, bramble and vanilla on the nose. Yikes. Huge wine. Full bodied and really rich, but is balanced out by good acidity. Blackberry and vanilla flavours on a good, but very tannic finish. This needs more time, but I liked it. This wines has cajones. 93 points. I hear they're trying to make wines from Malbec in Argentina? Wink

  • 2001 Château du Cèdre Cahors Le Cèdre - France, Southwest France, Cahors (7/3/2007)
Tasted 1 year ago. Nose of dark plums, licorice(black), and earthy and vanilla overtones. More black plums and blackcherry. Good acidity. This regions is seriously undervalued for the quality of wines it produces. Long mineral and fruit finish. (92 pts.)

"Tasted 1 year ago."

Did you find this tn between the couch cushions? Razz

I think the value is just right. I put this in the sane and fair price category. ALthough if more people appreciated Cahors, maybe we would get a few more here in the U.S.
