Not on the level of the 1996 Crianza or any Arzuaga Reserva. Dominant oak-note in the nose upon opening. Mellowed down a bit after a while and some black fruit and cherry showed up. Medium to full bodied. Somewhat coarse-grained tannins, rustic and not the finest structure. Ends in a chocolaty and spicy finish. I wouldn't wait longer with this one and finish it, if I had more bottles: 87 P.
Marc; Always glad to see your notes on Spanish wines that actually make their way to KY. I have a couple of '95 Crianza's in the basement and there are plenty of '96's still in the stores for around $18. Love this wine immensely.
...hey, chief - you gonna finish that bottle?

Kybo, I'd buy these 1996 Crianzas! They are really good (about outstanding) and you have a lot of wine-value for your money. If possible, you should also try the 1996 Reserva, a truly fantastic wine! Cheers.
