Hey I know this wine need more time -- Ok ---

Opened at my wifes' request for her birthday dinner @ Ruth's Chris with large NY steak.

Decanted 1 1/2 hour (need a lot more time) the nose was expressive and "sexy" with blackberry, more dark fruits, currant, black cherry and spices, very soft on palate with - a little tight right now-- wild berry, blk cherry, blackberry, tantalizing spices,served up with finesse and elegance and a long --thought provoking-- finish. 95CK (fwiw)

provoking a thankful attitude that I still have 8 more Big Grin

California Kid,

Didn't you also buy the Facets? How does this compare to the Facets?

Thanks!

It is hard to describe the differences but I can say that the Facets is a baby Gemstone.

The nose,palate and finish of the Gemstone is much the same as facets BUT the Gemstone is so so much more deep and complex and the Gemstone needs more cellar time.

I hope this helps FWIW/CK

Speaking of which, are you (or anyone else) interested in trading one of these bottles? I've never had the pleasure of trying the Gemstone but maybe 5-10 years from now, I would like to.

Louzarius;

I plan to age the remaining 8 I have and open another in a year then enjoy one a year for every year thereafter; as these will hold up for some time.

Pyang helped introduce me to Paul & Susie (Mr. & Mrs. Gemstone) which enabled me to get on their list--- you might contact Pyang and see if he can help Cool

When we visited Paul and Suzie, I thought Paul told us that Facets was their Chardonnay. Am I missing something?
