Opened tonight with a bbq, I'm on vacation in Cali.

Color- dark red, a little brick around the outside. in a word- dead. Not a fruit left in it. A very slight nose of dark berries, but nothing shows up on the tongue.

Drink 'em if you got 'em. Nothing to see here.

There's a lot of love in the room tonight.

Fife Zin is not made to hold this long. The Mendocino in 1997 was excellent but I drank the last of this two years ago. I am sure I tried the Old vines at the winery but I don't recall how it tasted young.

Lately, I have found the Fife zinfandels to be lacking something. I was not very impressed with the 1999.
