Very dark in the glass, almost a purple/black. Complex, somewhat old-world combo on the nose of plum, blueberry, spice, leather, cedar. On the palate - blackberry, blueberry, plum, dark chocolate, and spice with a nice amount of acidity. Oak is noticeable without dominating. Full-weight mouthfeel with some minerality. I've had the 2001 of this before and didn't care for it; this is much better. This easily has a few more years to go IMO. Nice fleshy fruit but still has enough "old-school Bordeaux" features to make it really interesting. Decent length of finish, too. 91-92 for me.
