I had '94 Dominus for the second time tonight. The first time I had this wine was during the late summer of 2001. At this time I had thought that the wine would continue to develope for some time and last another decade or more.

Over the past year and a half the wine has matured and I believe it is now in its prime drinking. In fact, I think this wine may start to decline within the next ten years.

The wine's character is how I remember it. It is still my favorite wine. Layers upon layers of flavor, from thick, dry, molases to tiny berry flavors and layrs. The wine tastes even more like a Bordeaux than it did a couple of years ago. It tastes almost more like a great Pomerol than it does a CA Cab. I enjoy this wine way too much to dissect its component parts but suffice it to say that it has an interminable finish and a divine nose. My score would be a 97(+?) (The last time I tasted this I would hav given it a 98.)

My wife and I took a bottle to a nice restaurant. She ordered some type of seafood and did not want any of the '94 Dominus so I "had to" drink the whole bottle myself with an incredible prime NY strip. I felt so sorry for myself. Wink
