If you are a fan of Alberino, try this wine. If you are just so-so on Albarino, do not try this wine.

This beauty is so Albarino (best ever for me) with pear and peach juxtaposed with lime/lemon causing a crisp, hyper dry and clean wine, yet still offering a richness. You might even pick up a touch of ginger and honey on the finish.

Our bottle was the perfect match for a cold seafood platter.

I would give the wine an hour of air.

One of the single greatest wine/food matches is Albarino with seafood. Thanks for the TN.

W+A,
Where did you find this? That and the Paso de Barrantes have been two of my favorite, but I have been unable to find them around town. By the way....isn't it painful to see the pricing on Albarino these days?

Sigels in Addison. I picked up 6, and heading back for more.

I would swing by to pick up some for you, but heading out of town on Monday.

In my experience, the best two are Pazo Señorans and Fefinanes. There are some mediocre ones made, so the producer is key.

Just one more sip.

Thanks a lot for the notes w+a. After reading, I went to buy one bottle to try and really loved it. I was amazed by the purity and minerality of the wine mixed with the peachy notes.
Great stuff.

french16, glad you enjoyed.

I really think it may have been the best I have had yet (Albarino) and look forward to trying again.

Less minerality than previous bottle, just a little flint along lemon, yeast, peach/apricot and flowers.
Med body, good acidity, perfect on a hot day with nice complexity.
Drink up as it is already not as good as a year ago.

Anyone try the 2007 version of this. My supplier has some in stock?

I have not, but I think they drink well on release, so be careful IW.
