Dark ruby/garnet colour. Crystal clear. Aromas of butterscotch, cherry, and plum. Medium-bodied, with cherry, plum, earth, and currant notes. Short-moderate finish, 20s, with red fruit. 87 points (07/07/2005).

Good note Fut. I don't recall the finish being short .... this is why I need to take TNs! This had a nice streak of acidity.

An excellent match with the Ribeye.

i do not totally agree with fut's note i think the wine merited a higher score but the magic here is that this wine will not begin to unfold for another ten years, the 62 was stunning the 70 was sublime this is still old style Rioja which needs time.

Darth,

I thought it was a nice wine, but nothing special. Although I don't drink much Rioja, I didn't note any substantial structure and tannin in this wine that would hint at the longevity that you're suggesting.

Fut you could be right i had this wine at a tasting of spanish wines at my cottage. it was up against some real heavy weights like pingus and artadi and some old reserva's so truthfully i will taste it again and see.

For anyone interested, this is a blend of 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo.
