This was the first wine of the night from the 9/20/02 dinner at DC Coast. Tannin Pig brought it and it was already on ice at the table when Dr.T, my wife and I arrived. We thought for a minute about waiting for TJ and his wife to arrive before opening it; but only for a minute and then had the cork popped. Luckily for TJ, he walked in as it was being poured or we may not have saved any for him.

This was an excellent champagne with delicate effervesence. Walnut, toast and light fruit notes were dominant in its powerful frame. It exhibited nuances only present in aged champagne and if you like that style this is for you. I liked it. This was the 2nd best champagne I've had this year. 92 points.
