Went to Parcel 104 for dinner last night. It was a friend's 40th birthday, so I took along a few bottles:
1999 Mumm Grand Annee
1996 Peju Province Cabernet
1996 Forman Cabernet
NV Silverado Late Harvest (10+YO)

The Peju was excellent. Bags of sweet, delicious fruit backed up by the complexity that 5+ years of bottle age will give you and a long finish. In comparison the Forman was a disappointment; it had dried out somewhat and didn't have that much of a finish. I'm hoping it's down to bottle variation as I still have four more.

I was worried about the Silverado as the cork had pushed 1mm out at some stage. It slipped back in fairly easily but no sign of leakage. The colour was like apple juice, but it was that way when I bought it. When it came to opening the wine the cork wasn't for coming and slipped back into the bottle. Fortunately there was no sign of oxidation and the wine was great; rich and oily with a good acidity - went very nicely with both the foie gras starter and the vanilla based desserts.
