Dark purple in color and opaque. You immediate get dark fruit and plum. There were a moderate amount of tannins and they were harsh and an overall short finish. I have tasted this one before and was amazed at how much it had changed (it was far better several months ago). Tasted again after 60 minutes and this did not improve. I believe this was an off bottle.
