Incredible wine. Deep ruby red. Dark fruits, cassis, and spice. Great balance. This was a step up from the Chehalem.

This was the best Pinot Noir I tasted from @30 at an event at Copia last year.

I wanted to try these guys after seeing a note by you and noticing that you take the same exit to get to the winery as you do to go to where I learned to surf(Manressa). I have not been disappointed and now belong to their wine club.

They sell a small amount of fruit as well. David Bruce gets some. Laurie Daniels, who writes for the Mercury News, had an article a few months ago on SCM Pinot's and 3 of her recommendations where from Windy Oaks fruit.

I thought of buying some last year, but it's more likely I'll do a few barrels in 2007.

A step up from Chehalem sounds really good. Any earth or sense of place from this wine? You'd think the moutain location would leave its mark?

Can't wait to get to their Chard you gave us!

There is definately a unique quality to this wine that I love, but just can't describe it. We had this wine with Christmas dinner so I was more focused on the people and than the wine. On their web site they mention "briary forest floor notes". Maybe that's it.

Deep ruby red, with a slight orange tint on the rim. Cherries, berries, cassis, cola and spice. There is something special about this wine that I can't describe. Incredible balance and a smooth long finish. 95 pts.
