Very nice fruit purity here. This is ready to go and not holding anything back. Lovely pear, fuji apple, and citrussy lemon. Finishing with toasty oak. Great acidity, and a moderate finish. 92 pts. for me. Almost 93.
'97 Lafoa Cabernet (Italy)
This garnered a "3 star" award from the Gambero Rosso on release, and was one of the first Italian wines to ever impress me. Deep dark blood red with hints of black. 12.5% alcohol. Notes of smokey briary blackberry, creme de cassis, fresh juicy currant, olive, and leather. Great backbone and still amazingly young. This will need at least another 7-10 years to flesh out and should last well beyond that. Just as amazing as when I had it on release. A fantastic food wine, as it's more about subtlety than showiness. 93+ pts.
So much wine.....so little time!!!

Italian wines are a mystery to me, but I agree with your notes on the '02 Seavey Chardonnay, especially how they are drinking now. I couldn't find any notes on it. . .A sleeper of the vintage?
