Opened this yesterday since it was not the sunny day promised, but instead an overcast event. So after a day in the yard, thought I would enjoy something nice. I have had this six or seven times in the last three years. In the glass the wine is a deep ruby with a bit of dustiness. As usual with Pichon, it has a lovely nose. Jammy, currant, with a hint of pencil lead and layer of cedar. Better than I remembered from the last bottle. The flavor is very open with nice blended layers of fruit and tannin. The fruit held to the last drop and made for a very satisfying bottle.
WS says 91, Parker 90, I have consistently thought 92.
Splash decanted two hours before drinking and enjoyed it with some Chili and the Grammy’s. Great performance by Bruce, naturally.
