2004 Sea Smoke Pinot Noir Ten - USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Rita Hills (11/28/2007) 3 hours decanting. Alcohol on the nose but it's intoxicating rather than unpleasant -- rum soaked fruit cake instead of rubbing alcohol. Flavours of Cherry pie, Christmas spices, vanilla. Alot going on in this wine that still seems awfully young but well-balanced acidity keeps it light and promises an even better future. I'd expect over time a slightly shallow midpalate is going to flesh out. Hold until 2009. (93 pts.)
Thanks for the TN. Do you know of a place in Napa that sells this? I am going to be there early next week and am interested in picking up a bottle or two.

2004 Sea Smoke Pinot Noir Ten - USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Rita Hills - Sta. Rita Hills (10/17/2009) WIML91?
Tasted October 17, 2009 at an offline.
Decanted 5 hours. Dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Slightly big nose which I guess is to be expected with this young CA Pinot showing notes of plums, currants, black cherries, black berries and a bit of white pepper. Rich flavors of black berries, plums and black cherries. Medium acidity, firm tannins, full bodied. Drink now with plenty of air or continue to hold over the medium term. (91 pts.)
