Popped and poured w/o decanting.

Deep cranberry color, excellent clarity, only a slight amount of sediment on the last pour. The nose shows warm soft oak, some forest floor, and crushed berries. High-toned fruit - red and black - is starting to slip a bit, but comes around nicely w/some air. Elegant and restrained, nice though shortish finish. This wine is just slightly past its prime but is still drinking well. 87-88 pts.

"Question with boldness even the existence of a god; because if there be one he must approve of the homage of reason more than that of blindfolded fear. "
-Thomas Jefferson, letter to Peter Carr, August 10, 1787
