Actually, tasted it last night, amongst about 20 cabs. Unlike the 1999, I was not impressed. I found it lacked the same depth and structure.

At the current price, I'll pass.

... since you're out of the White Zin, I'll have a Boonsfarm on the rocks !

Assuming you are talking about the cab, here are my brief notes from when I was at winery last October:

2000 Cab. (Just released, earlier than normal. They ran out of 1999 and I bet they want plenty of time to sell the weak 2000 before the 01 comes out). Nice nose, but the flavors are somewhat green and astringent. CN88.

CabNut,

thanks for tasting notes.

I like the 99 very much. Since I have been buying a lot of Bordeaux == lately, I think I will pass this one and wait for 01. I think I can get better wines of BDX 00 for the the price of Phelps.

kikis2:

I think you are right, I will not be buying the 00 either, unless at fire sale price.

the people at Insignia seems to be developing a bad reputation for overprice wines. someone should remove that stick up there rear ends and knock some sense into them.

MikeyS,

They are just keeping up with the Opus & Caymus group! However, there is a "sure-fire" way to get their attention. Don't buy overpriced Wines. It dosen't make you sophisticated, it makes them wealthy! Eek
