ooops, that italian postal system again, nothing works in your country! It would be an honour for us if you'd come too! We start somewhen early on Saturday afternoon. Tsunami will prepare a lot of fancy food (the highlight will be a capretto al forno). And we're going to open some fantastic bottles! If you can make it, drop me a line at sabbath NOSPAM @gmx.ch. Hey, I missed the fun part of this thread. I got to read the copious tasting notes and then ran away. I second the off-line in Scotland. Edinburgh has to be the best place. It has more restaurants of a decent standard and less deep-fried mars bars. I'll also be up there soon to do a reccy. I can get serrano over here! I must have some booze. I DEMAND to have some booze.

WHAT WHAT WHAT!? Where were you, our ubiquitous chip? Save for dear old Dogue de Bordeaux this has become the official embarrassinngly-nonsensically Eurothread, and of course all the time I had the feeling this was incomplete without you! Edimburgh IS a place I'd kill to return to. BTW, I see at least somebody has read the TNs ------------------ Free Winona!

Oh well, I'm here now. So what have we got? The Swiss contingent assaulting Italy. Austria moaning about the lack of foreign imports and Spain having its main protagonist admitting to links with the Spanish mafia. Hmmmm... Has anybody brought up the Austrian wine and anti-freeze subject yet? This way we could simulate a complete inter-state euro-war. Where are the Dutch? Are they trying to be neutral again? I must have some booze. I DEMAND to have some booze.

"if this works, I'll have put and end to the distributor-monopoly in Tenerife for good" Should this be followed by a hysterical "Wahahahaha waahaahaaa" whilst you chomp an enormous Dutch Havana and Tattoo mixes you a cocktail? My thumbs have gone weird.

Well, no German wine of real pradikat level is sold in Tenerife at the moment, but if 6 € get you a case of wine (a case of 12 bottles, just in case... ) at Spanish prices (often 30% cheaper), then I imagine my cellar will experiment an amazing improvement for the same €€ or I'll be able to stick to my buyings for less money...and you'll get TNs of late releases in virtually no time... ------------------ Free Winona!

Hey, anything that's used in a car window defroster can't be that bad, can it? A glass of anti-freeze TBA and a prime cut of mad British beef, hmmmmmmmmm.... I must have been a root louse in a past life....

So what kind of war is this? Showing off with horrible deep-fried mars bars? Being proud of car defrosting liquids and mingy wrinkled tulips? Well I know what to do: - I cancel Valladolid from my list of possible landmark visits (I should have done that already when the other guy left the place) - I boycott the Dutch for claiming our neutrality - I boycott Spain and italy for their politician crooks eeh.. Spain maybe not, their serrano ham is still the best, much better than any sort of italian be it Parma, San Daniele or whatever! - I boycott England for all what they deep-fry - Austria is off my list anyway since they began to win the ski races! (P.S. Andrea: Tondonia Gran Reserva 1964: great, legendary wine, somewhere above 95 P.) Anche Dio è di-vino

What is all this fuss about the serrano??? Are we talking of the iberico de bellota? Then we agree, that's probably the holy grail of prosciutto (sp Gastro )), but for the rest pleeeeeezzz, leave Friuli alone! Boycott Switzerland!!!, UH??? nothing to boycott up there!!!
