A friend of mine is into Lambruscos... And he picked this up at a wine store that didn't have Lambruscos... was recommended as an alternative.

The Casorzo DOC is adjacent to Asti in Piedmont... Think Asti Spumante!

This is 5% alcohol... a darkish medium fizzy red.

Blind, I'd swear it was a regular white asti. It might be a little rounder... have a little something extra on the nose and finish... but other than that, it's just like a (quality) white asti. EASY drinking... delicious. Sweet but clean. 87+pts, but just perfect for the category.

Never knew they existed!

I also heard a rumor that Voület is the only producer in the DOC, but I don't know if that's true.
