Price: $20
Decanted: No, poured into glasses for 45 minutes before getting serious though.
Colour: Dark red - it's cabernet, it's 2 years old, no surprises here.
Nose: Wet earth, tobacco
Taste: Like a bucket of wet dirt, very muted fruit, green & vegetative & astringent.
Finish: short & unmemorable, except for the bad taste.

Other: Only had half the bottle, next day same deal, just a different day!

Points: 67
QPR: F

Wow ! Quite a surprise. Sounds like a bad bottle.

I have had several bottles of this and really enjoyed each one. I'd give it a solid 88+pts.

... since you're out of the White Zin, I'll have a Boonsfarm on the rocks !

fk & jo - possible, but I had a couple of corked Perrin wines 2 weeks ago and I could tell right upon popping the cork, with this the odor wasn't fruity, but kind of like some Graves wines that I've had, especially a 1994 La Louviere. However with the Louviere, the fruit was right upon taste and there was no vegetative sense, and I've consistently ranked that wine 88-90 over the past 4 years. I've had a few 1998 California reds, and they've all shared some of the bad qualities described above.

I don't know if Central California had the same problems northern California had in 2000, and I've really enjoyed the 1999 Isocoeles, so I'm scratching my head on this one.

Well, looks like I'm 3 months late and $20 short! I'll need to align my deliverables in accordance with TAA in the future. Or deliver my alignables.
