There is about 2500 cases of this full bodied wine from Pomerol. The cepage of this is 95% merlot and 5% Cab Franc. This is the kind of wine you serve with exotic meats. Oxtail comes to mind. Lengthy tannins in an elegent frame of currant, plum and sweet cherries. Will age well. 92pts. Because of the fairly small production the price is not cheap. About $70. Anyone else try this?

  • 2001 Château du Domaine de L'Eglise - France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol (5/10/2008)
Pleasant bordeaux with cassis and pain-grillé and with replays of the same on the palate. Again, classic bdx style but very fruit forward making it a pleasure to drink. I'd say it was approachable. Classic bdx style. Long silky finish.(92 pts.)
