Somewhat obscured by acid and youth but at times the following did show….
Had a deep core of grape and plum fruit. Somewhat spicy, very acidic and some tannin. Barbera is not heavy on tannin but I will like this even better when the acid mellows and tannin resolves. A little savory and gamey with a hint of that wood and aspirin that I pick up in young Barbera. There is also an almost chocolate like character. It is not bitter, and not sweet, but somehow still reminiscent of chocolate. Tart blackberry and cherry fruit do come around. Be sure to let this warm up.
86-88 Points now and I could see this hitting 88-91 when settled.
