I am a huge fan of Lewis wines, but this blend of Cabernet, Syrah and Petite Verdot just didn't quite do it for me. Although pleasant, I felt something was lacking.
A nose of black currant, smoke and red brick becomes more red-cherrish and raspberry on the palate, with darker fruits also coming into the equation. The finish is medium in length. 87-88

I came real close to opening up the 2000 bottling of this tonight but what I find, perhaps amusing, is that the 2000 Alec's is 60% syrah and 40% merlot.
