Opened my magnum that I acquired a few months ago and it delivered on all cylinders. They produced 6542 magnums in the '93 vintage. Cork came out in 1 piece and the aromas leaped from the bottle at first asking. Color was a ruby red with very slight bricking at the edge. We consumed this over 4 hours and each glass was better than the previous. We did not decant this. Aroma wise I noticed a baked raspberry pie with fresh cut violet component. After taking the 1st sip the acidity was elevated but not overdone. I knew the fruit would emerge with time as the acidity folded in with the fruit. This wine paired well with the brie encroute that was served. The main fruits were raspberry, blackcherry and a leather laden finish. (in a good way). The tannins were integrated and velvety the way a 15yr old Barolo should be. Wish I owned some more magnums. 93pts.

Good job on picking this up a few months ago (at a good price, if I recall). Glad it performed well!

Fut,

One of those lucky emails from one of my distributors, saying they had 4 magnums. I bought one, a coworker did and the other 2 went to a local restaurant. Wish I had bought all 4.

Hindsight. At least if you get another email about the item, you'll snatch them all up!
